Project Overview
Tree of Savior: Neverland is an MMORPG co-developed by Korean and Japanese teams and released across multiple markets in Asia and beyond. For this title, HS+ supported both localization and in-game LQA from Simplified Chinese into Hong Kong Cantonese, English, Thai, and Vietnamese, while also delivering multilingual voice-over across the same language set.
The Challenge
Tree of Savior: Neverland was not just a language-conversion project. It was a tone-sensitive MMO with a soft, emotional atmosphere that needed to survive across multiple Asian and global language versions.
The main challenges were:
- Keeping the game's warm, relaxing tone intact across very different markets
- Localizing both dialogue and voice scripts in a way that stayed readable and emotionally natural
- Validating quality in live builds through in-game LQA
- Producing multilingual voice-over with consistent performance and structured delivery for future updates
What HS+ Delivered
- Simplified Chinese localization into Hong Kong Cantonese, English, Thai, and Vietnamese
- 10,000+ words per language across dialogue and VO scripts
- In-game LQA to check tone, readability, and bugs in live builds
- Multilingual voice-over for approximately 4,000 lines
- Script QA and localization review before recording
- Remote director-led sessions and post-production editing
- Terminology and pronunciation guides, character reference reels, QC checklists, and change logs
Execution Approach
HS+ approached Tree of Savior: Neverland as a multilayer production case, not a simple translation handoff.
On the localization side, the team focused on the game's warm and emotionally friendly atmosphere, making sure the writing remained natural and easy to follow in each target language. Cantonese was handled with lively, conversational energy so characters would feel close and believable.
On the voice-over side, HS+ combined script QA, localization review, remote live-directed recording, and post-editing in one controlled process.
Results
The result was a multilingual package that carried the project's emotional tone across four different markets while also staying production-ready for future content updates.
Outcome Highlights
- 4-language rollout — Hong Kong Cantonese, English, Thai, and Vietnamese delivered together.
- Localization + LQA combined — Language quality was checked in live builds, not only in files.
- 4,000-line multilingual VO — Recording and post-production completed with structured packaging.
- Future-update ready delivery — QC checklists, change logs, and organized asset packaging supported continuity beyond launch.
Why This Case Matters
Tree of Savior: Neverland is important because it shows HS+ handling three connected production layers at once: localization, in-context QA, and multilingual voice-over.
